Penticton/Vancouver

I recently travelled to BC for a well needed vacation. After going to school for 20 months straight (spring and summer courses) I finally got the chance to relax. I knew I had to squeeze every last bit of fun out of this because I don't see another vacation on the horizon until I graduate....depending on if I get into Law School. Not to mention working 6 days a week until school starts again. Anyways here is a little bit about my vacation.

I flew into Kelowna, British Columbia where Tanya and Angela met me to make the drive to Penticton. I was surprised to find out that we were actually staying in Coston (I really hope I spelt that right) just outside of Penticton. This is where our friend Victoria is living for the summer with her friend Tessa. The land was beautiful! There were beautiful vineyards, giant cherry trees, and gorgeous mountains. I learnt that Tessa's family owned most of this land, and that we wouldn't even cover it in the time that we were there.

(This is me on Max's boat - cheesy smile but totally genuine. I was having so much fun!)

Angela and I made a habit of eating breakfast on the porch before making the risky task of waking Tanya up for the day. I felt like I had to pinch myself when I was staring at the mountains and feeling the hot sun on my face. It was too good to be true.

We spent our days on the beach, on Max's boat, and floating down the channel (if you ever go to Pentiction this is a must!) One day we drove down to Oroville, Washington to go to a huge department store called Prince's where everything is dirt cheap. Of course we bought all the things you can't get in Canada like coconut M&Ms and Snapple. One evening Tessa brought us to meet her baby horse and on the way there we saw a rattle snake. I'd never seen one that close before. It was really cool!

On my fourth day of Vacation I had to say goodbye to beautiful Coston and my friends to hop on a Grey Hound that would take me to Vancouver, British Columbia where I would spend a few days visiting my sister. I didn't realize how much I would miss Connie until she was gone. Although it hadn't even been two months since she left I was so excited to see her. Connie moved to Vancouver to spend some time with her boyfriend who had scored an internship with Radical Entertainment. This seems like the best job ever. They have a fully stocked fridge, ping pong tables, and catered dinner if they stay late. I tell you, the Vancouver Gaming Industry appears to be the place to be.

Connie and I spent a lot of time walking in downtown Vancouver. We went shopping on Robson and Granville where I bought a dress that I love but am sure I will never get the chance to wear. One day we walked down to the docs. I couldn't get over how beautiful it was. Not only was it amazing to be by the water, but it was also really cool to scope out the crazy apartments.

All in all, this was definitely the vacation I had hoped it would be and more.

Canada Day!

Instead of getting messy in downtown Calgary on Canada day, I spent the evening with two lovely ladies. We had pizza (which Sam made on the BBQ) with nectarine salad and sangria. It was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. We followed dinner with some delicious shisha and spent hours chatting it up. It was the perfect way to spend the night. As Sam and Gabi know a lot more about photography than I do I took the opportunity to pick their brains. Here are some that I took.

Considering it was my first go at it, I'm pretty proud of them. I can't wait to get my camera!
